Wilbur Families,

Today we learned that a number of individuals at Wilbur Elementary School have tested positive for COVID-19.  These cases are in addition to the cases previously reported on Wednesday, April 14th.  We are working hard to collaborate with the Division of Public Health (DPH) to identify and contact anyone who may have had close contact with these individuals.

In an abundance of precaution, ALL Wilbur Elementary students will move to virtual learning starting Monday, April 19, 2021.  There will be no in-person instruction at Wilbur during this time.  This decision was not made lightly and we understand that this may cause disruption and frustration.  We will continue to keep the safety and well-being of our students and staff at the forefront of all of our decisions at all times.

We expect to reopen for in person instruction on Monday, April 26, 2021.  During the time of virtual learning we ask that you contact your building principal and school nurse to report if your student(s) experience COVID-19 symptoms, are identified as close contacts to a positive COVID-19 case or test positive for COVID-19.  The school nurse will follow up with you during the next school day to discuss return to school protocols.

Families will receive an email from their classroom teacher with more information about learning next week.

As a reminder, our nutrition services department and our transportation department will be delivering food.  Check here for drop off locations and times (http://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/community/remote-food-program/) .

Continue to monitor our website at http://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/wilbur/ and social media for the latest updates as we strive to keep families fully informed.
