Schedule

  • Courses will run from July 5, 2022 through July 28, 2022 (or when students complete their course requirements).
  • These courses will be taught virtually with live video conferencing support Monday through Thursday
  • Time:  

Session #1:  9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Session #2:  1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

          2 hour flex office time (to be determined by CIS instructor)

Course Topics

William Penn will offer virtual summer credit recovery courses in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, French, Health, & Electives for students that have failed any of these courses during the school year. These courses will be offered for no cost.

*This is only available to current WPHS students*

By June 23th, parents can check their student’s Home Access Center for final grades. IF your student earns a final grade of F in any of these courses (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, Spanish/ French or Electives), they can register to take that course online this Summer to make-up that credit. 

*All other courses will be addressed in the Fall*

Registration

Registration begins June 27, 2022 for students that attend William Penn High School 9th-12th  grades. In order to register, students can report to William Penn High School June 27-June 29 between 8AM-4PM, or register online from June 27, 8AM – June 29 4PM.   *Registration is limited and will close once the courses are filled*

Once final grades are released, students will need to contact their assigned counselor to confirm which courses to register for if they are registering online.  *No registrations will be accepted after June 29, 2022 at 4pm*

Program Requirements

1) Overall Grade on Submissions

2) Virtual Time

3) Completing the number of Submissions Required

  • Grade: Students must earn a passing average on the tests and submissions. Minimum passing grade is 60% with 100% completion.
  • Virtual Time:  The State of Delaware requirement to earn a makeup credit.
  • Submissions:  Assignments on the computer. A passing average must be earned on these assignments. Students must complete the number of submissions required for the specific class they are registered in.

Attendance

Virtual attendance is required daily to complete the requirements of the program. 

Three tardies will equal an absence. It is expected that registered students attend until their course(s) is complete or through July 28, 2022, whichever comes first. (unless other accommodations have been made with the instructor).

Discipline

The Colonial School District Code of Conduct is enforced during credit recovery hours. Serious violations will result in immediate removal from the credit recovery program.
