Senior Spotlight: Francisca Owusu

Where do you live/grow up?
I spent a small portion of my childhood in Ghana but I grew up in Newark, Delaware.

What are your plans for after graduation?
I plan to join the Army National Guard but still attend college for Nursing.

What are you passionate about outside of school?
I am passionate about church and helping out the community. Whether that be cleaning parks, paying clothes from GoodWill and sending it to Africa or walking sheltered dogs.

What’s one word you would use to describe yourself and why:
Passionate. I feel that everything I decide to take on I have passion pushing me to continue. Because of this passion things that may seem impossible to other or merely a challenge to me.

What teacher made an impact on you and why?
The teacher that made the biggest impact on me was Mrs. Schroeder. She’s a teacher that I can go to about college, home life, and my personal life. She has become another motherly figure in my life. When we talk to each other there’s a mutual respect and love for one another.

What person, who isn’t a teacher, made an impact on you and why?
A person that has made an impact on me is Ceren Kangal. She pushes me to be better and do better. When I’m not feeling like myself she picks me up.

What major are you in at WP?
Allied Health

What sports or clubs are you involved in?
Throughout my entire high school career I was involved with Volleyball, Swim, Lacrosse and Soccer.

What’s your favorite high school memory
I don’t have a favorite because I’ve made many amazing moments that all hold an equally important place in my mind.

What’s something you hope to be remembered for
My energy. I hope that people remember that positive and almost always happy energy that I carry all the time.
