Late this afternoon William Penn investigated threats to student safety reported to administrators. The non-specific threats are being taken seriously. The Delaware State Police School Resource Officer, School Constables, Administrators, and School Counselor investigated the incidents to ensure there was no active threat.  One student has been identified and Delaware State Police are continuing the investigation. Any additional individuals responsible will face school discipline and prosecution.

Based on investigations today, we believe there are no credible threats to the school. Regardless, the Colonial School District takes any and all threats seriously.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 8th, out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased presence of school constables on school grounds as the safety of students and staff remains a top priority. In the meantime, families are urged to remind students if they see or hear something that could cause concern to report it to school authorities immediately. Anyone who has any information regarding this matter is strongly encouraged to contact the School Resource Officer at William Penn or the Delaware State Police at Troop 2.
