Class of 2021 – Beth Waguespack

What major are you in at WP?
– Wp Digital Media

What are your plans for after graduation? (College, Career, Military?)
I plan to major in Digital Media at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.

What are you passionate about outside of school?
I am passionate about sports. I have played softball most of my life, and have recently started to swim and run cross country. Sports give me a release and have also gained me many of my friends over the years.

Any Awards, Scholarships or Accomplishments?
Some of my accomplishments include 

• being selected for the Governor’s school of excellence and the DIAA leadership conference, 
• Named the Female Undergraduate Community Service winner last year.
• I have also been awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship at my college.

What person, who isn’t a teacher, made impact on you and why?
A person thats made an impact on me, besides all my amazing teachers, is Gabe Phillips. Without him I would have missed out on a lot of opportunities to gain experience in my future career. He has allowed me to help him with a lot of different projects in the past year and they have really helped me improve. Through these projects I have gained invaluable portfolio material and an incredible amount of experience!

What sports or clubs are you involved in ?
During my time at William Penn I have been on the softball, swim, and cross country teams. I have also been involved in Yearbook, Penn Publications, Colonials Crushing Cancer, and Project Rescue Earth. I am also a member of NHS.

What’s your favorite high school memory?
One of my favorite high school memories was volunteering at the Special Olympics Basketball Event. I volunteered with a lot of my friends and we all had a lot of fun. It was also fun to interact with the athletes and help them complete the stations.

What’s something you hope to be remembered for?
I hope to be remembered for my kindness and compassion towards others.

What’s your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” because its a reminder to always live life in the present and to go for things even if you aren’t sure you can achieve them.
