Kerri Campbell
Principal
Principal Kerri Campbell began her career in the Colonial School District as a teacher, student advisor, and assistant principal before moving to her present position. She recalls wanting to become an educator as a child saying, “Growing up I always looked forward to going to work with mom in the summertime who was a secretary at Southern Elementary. During this time, I would help the teachers and staff prepare the building for the upcoming school year. It was here that my passion for becoming a teacher in Colonial began to grow.” Campbell enjoys being an administrator at her family-centered school, “One of my favorite parts of belonging to Colonial is building relationships with students, staff, and families. Everyone always wants what is best for our students and truly believes in the Power of WE!”
Justin Hanger
Assistant Principal
Assistant Principal Justin Hanger spent six years teaching before he decided to become a school building administrator. He was a student advisor at Southern Elementary and George Read Middle School before becoming an assistant principal at Wilmington Manor and the former Colonial Virtual Program. Hanger graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and later earned a Master’s in Instructional Leadership from Neumann University. Education is Hanger’s second career; he began working as a graphic designer and still loves comics, movies, video games, and other “nerd” things. Hanger enjoys his present role saying, “I want families to know that I believe in communication. I believe in working together for the benefit of the students. I value connections between the school and the family.” This married father of two says he’s grateful to be a part of the Colonial Community adding he draws inspiration from a quote by Albert Einstein, “Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”
