Academics
At Wilmington Manor Elementary School we hold all students to the highest standards, knowing that each of them can reach their highest potential.
We use the Harcourt Storytown Reading Series. This series is broken down into lessons that teach Comprehension, Focus Skills, Focus Strategies, Grammar, and Writing. This website will give you some information on how you can help your children at home.
Our Mathematics curriculum is Investigations in Number, Data, and Space. This curriculum not only teaches our students a wide variety of math understandings, but teaches them various ways to find an answer to a problem.
Science in Wilmington Manor is completly hands-on! The students complete units that are designed to give them an understanding of the world around them. They are able to become the scientist and participate in labs that will further their understandings of Science.
Social Studies
We also use the Harcourt series for our Social Studies Curriculum. In the lower grades the students learn about the country, world, and citizenship. When they enter the upper grades they begin to study the events in the history of our country that have lead us to the people we are today.
