Who WE Are – Jennifer Wisowaty

Jennifer Wisowaty has been a dedicated Colonial since she was in kindergarten. Now, as an assistant principal at William Penn High School, Wisowaty has fond memories of her days as both a student and a rookie educator who was determined to join the ranks of an administrator. Wisowaty played volleyball, basketball and softball at Penn and also served on Student Council. She later graduated from Wilmington University on a volleyball scholarship with dreams of returning to Colonial as a teacher. Her dreams became reality when she started teaching at George Read after graduation where she worked as a teacher, department chair, and coach for 13 years.In 2010 Wisowaty was named Teacher of the Year at George Read. Wisowaty knows she’s made a difference in the lives of her students because many make return visits to tell her so. Her favorite quote by an unknown author has served her well as an educator and administrator-”Live a life you create, not by default.”
