Free feminine hygiene products in schools

The Delaware House of Representatives has passed a bill requiring schools throughout Delaware to provide free tampons, pads, and other period products to students.

House Bill 20, sponsored by House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst and Senator Kyle Evans Gay, requires all public and charter schools serving students in grades 4 through 12 in the first state to provide menstrual hygiene products in half of their bathrooms at no cost to the students.

HB 20 also requires that menstrual products be made available in half of bathrooms designated non-gender conforming and that schools publish on their websites and post in common areas the locations where the hygiene products would be provided.
