Michael D. “Mike” Snow, age 47, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Wilmington, DE, on March 13, 2024.

Born in Portland, ME on June 29, 1976, Mike was a son of David W. Snow and the late Paula M. (Shunkwiler) Snow. Mike graduated from William Penn High School in 1994 and earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Salisbury State University in 1998. He then attended Wilmington University, where he earned his master’s in education. Mike found his true calling in teaching and his passion was not only proving that math could be fun, but also learning about each of his students and helping them through any challenges they may have faced. Mike was never prouder than when talking about the accomplishments of his students, past and present.

He loved art, music, the beach, fishing, and the sport of wrestling. Mike was most passionate about his family, friends, and the students he had the privilege to meet over the years. He was an advocate for social causes and always hoped to leave a brighter future than the present.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents. Mike is survived by his dad, David; brother, Jeff (Jessica); sister, Brianne; nieces Laney and Everly; his beloved dog, Maple; and numerous family in Maine.

Mike excelled at being a son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed more than he will ever know, but we know he is looking over us with our mom.

A visitation to celebrate Mike’s extraordinary life will be held from 10 am until 12 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Gunning Bedford Middle School Auditorium. All are welcome to attend.
