Dear Colonial Families,
This is an update for the week of June 23, 2025
We are sharing an important update regarding our Extended School Year and 12-month Summer Programming. We will be operating as normal on Monday, June 23, 2025.
However, due to the extreme heat conditions forecasted for the week of June 23, 2025, we will be actively monitoring the weather as the heat can cause mechanical challenges for the efficient operation of our buses.
All of the buses being used have air conditioning, but the extreme heat means that even when the system is operating as designed, temperatures in the buses may be uncomfortable.
To this end, please make sure your students are dressed appropriately for the bus ride. If a sweatshirt is needed due to colder temperatures in the building, please have them bring one to school with them. We will also supply bottled water on buses on extremely hot days.
If you feel uncomfortable with the weather, please feel free to keep your child home during these warmer-than-normal days.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher or the summer program coordinator.
