Good Afternoon,

Tomorrow, Friday, March 15th there will be no school for McCullough students. It will be a Professional Development Day for McCullough Staff.

On behalf of the entire McCullough staff I want to thank you for the many messages of condolences and offers of support. Our hope is that we will get through this as a school community. We understand that this is a hardship for families; however, we need time to ensure that the McCullough staff is prepared to support your children as they return to school.

McCullough staff will spend time on Friday working together on the plan for supporting students when they return to school on Monday, March 18th. With school being closed on Friday, March 15th, we as a school community and district will offer the following support to students, families, and staff:

  • Counseling support will be available at McCullough from 8:00 am to 12:45 pm on Friday, March 15th for students and staff provided by:
    • Nemours School Based Health (student does not have to be enrolled for support)
    • Children and Families First
    • Hispanic Personal Development (Spanish Speaking)
    • School Counselors
  • Meals for students that would need lunch will be available at McCullough from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm.
  • Any student coming for counseling support and/or to get a meal should enter through the rear gym entrance (same entrance used for home basketball games).

The following supports will be available over the weekend:

Access Resources, Crisis Textline, or Message your School

  • Delaware Victim Services 24 Hour Victim Hotline: 1-800-VICTIM-1

Thank you for truly showing the Power of We and that Mustangs Run Together!

Sincerely,

Hyacinth Lewis, Principal
