New Castle, DE- The Colonial School District will kick-off its free Summer Feeding Program with
a barbeque Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Eisenberg Elementary School from 5-7 p.m. The event,
sponsored by American Dairy Association North East, will include kid-friendly activities and
special appearances from former Baltimore Ravens player Qadry Ismail, and a surprise visit from a
Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles player!

Kids will also have the opportunity to meet a local dairy farmer and pet a calf.

The Summer Feeding Program is a federally funded nutrition program that provides free meals to
children 18 years of age and younger during the summer break when school is not in session. Last
year Colonial’s Nutrition Services Department served 32,500 meals throughout 30 sites during the
nine weeks of summer and expects to serve more this summer.

“We know hunger never takes a vacation so we are committed to seeing that our students continue
to receive nutritious meals during our summer break,” said Nutrition Services Supervisor Paula
Angelucci.

The Summer Feeding Program will serve on-site breakfast and lunch at the following locations:
Eisenberg Elementary School * William Penn High School * Southern Elementary School
Colwyck* McCullough Middle School* George Read Middle School.

Colonial Mobile Care-A-Vans will deliver meals to locations throughout the district. For times and

The WEBQ is free to children under 18, free to adults 19 and older if accompanied by a child,
and $3.00 for those 19 and older if not accompanied by a child. Eisenberg Elementary School is
