New Castle, DE- Lucy Kennedy officially announced her resignation at the December 14, 2021,

Board of Education meeting.  Kennedy, who joined the Board in July of 2015, will be moving to Lewes, DE to be closer to her family.  Kennedy had two children who grew up in the district and graduated from William Penn High School.  She was an active parent and community resident up until her planned departure.  Board President Ted Laws thanked Kennedy for her years of dedicated service and presented her with parting Colonial gifts that included an original painting by Leach student Aimee Torres.

Kennedy represented Nominating District B which includes Castle Hills, Swanwyck Estates, and surrounding communities.  Due to her vacancy, the Board of Education is seeking to replace her seat with a member of the community who will show equal dedication to this volunteer position.
