New Castle, DE- On Friday, April 27, 2018 Eisenberg Elementary School will become the first elementary school in Delaware to have a “Chair of Honor” prominently displayed in its lobby to honor all POW (Prisoners of War) and MIA (Missing in Action).

Following a presentation of the colors by the ROTC from William Penn High School, the pledge of allegiance by students, and singing of the National Anthem, the chair will be unveiled by the mother of Kamirah McClymont, a five-year old Eisenberg student. Kamirah’s mother, Shamere, donated the chair in honor of Kamirah’s  grandmother, Merriella McMillian, who served 31 years in the Army.

The Delaware chapter of A Hero’s Welcome is sponsoring the program so students will always be reminded of the 82,000 men and women who remain “still missing” and unaccounted for while serving in the US military. The chair will be draped in an American flag with chains.

The Chair of Honor program is from 1:00-1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27th.  Eisenberg Elementary School is located at 27 Landers Lane, New Castle, DE 19720.
