New Castle, DE – The Colonial School District (CSD) received a donation of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) this week from Donate Delaware, a non-profit organization that started in 2020 in response to the pandemic. Former boxing champ-turned business leader Dave Tiberi, a Colonial alumni, spearheaded the effort to raise funding for the PPE along with other William Penn High School (WPHS) alums. Among those alums supporting this effort was Chip Rossi, Market President of  Bank of America, Tom Horne, COO of JP Morgan Chase, and Tim Horne, CFO of Dover Downs. Former  Superintendent of Red Clay and Christina School Districts, Dr. Andrew Andrzejewski, who is now the  COO of Donate Delaware also helped Tiberi deliver the donations to CSD’s Administration Building. The donations of PPE included:

·       80,000 Adult disposable masks

·       76,950 disposable children’s masks

·       500 K-N95 masks

·       1,000 pairs of protective gloves

“These much-needed donations will go a long way to protect our students and staff, and I am especially delighted to know that WPHS grads who’ve reached a level of professional success remain committed to our district by helping to fund this donation. I truly appreciate the connection each has maintained with Colonial Nation!” said Superintendent, Dr. Jeffrey D. Menzer.
