Wallin teacher Regi Ashley passed away on October 23, 2021, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer (#Regstrong). Ashley, a married father of two daughters, was hired by Colonial in 2013. During his eight years at Wallin Ashley taught high school and middle school English and assisted with the school’s Credit Recovery Program. “Mr. Ashley was dedicated to Wallin’s staff and students. Even during his weekly treatments, he would show up for work and assist credit recovery students to achieve their goal of graduating.  He will be remembered for his stern, consistent but caring demeanor that he displayed even on his toughest days,” says Principal Kevin White. White says Ashley will be missed, adding in addition to his conviction to assist his students he will also be remembered for sharing his love of football, especially the Eagles, with all. He coached football for Middletown High School and was very close to Chris Godwin, a former Middletown student who now plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A graduate of Wesley College, Ashley was also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
Funeral arrangements are pending, but condolences to wife Latoya and family can be addressed to 250 Edgar Road, Townsend DE, 19734, or sent to Wallin.

Principal White says his staff will display a plaque and photo of Ashley in the main lobby and will likely plant a tree in his memory this spring.
