Out of an abundance of caution based on Delaware State Police recommendation, William Penn High School and McCullough Middle School were placed on lockdown shortly after 2 PM. Both schools had already dismissed students for the day, but some students and staff were still on campus for after school activities.
All elementary schools except Wilbur and Southern have also been on a soft lockdown, where extra precautions are being taken. Children attending Eisenberg, Castle Hills, Leach and the Colwyck Pre-K Center are being held for dismissal until the district gets clearance from DSP that the area is safe.
