About Renee
Principal Renee Griffith began her career in the Colonial School District in 1995 as a student teacher. She was later hired to teach full-time, and her outstanding work was recognized in 2007 when she was named the District’s Teacher of the Year. She would later become an instructional coach in elementary math, a student advisor, and an assistant principal before being promoted to her current position. Griffith earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, and her Master’s degree from Wilmington University. As a school administrator, she believes that “building strong relationships is crucial for creating a supportive, safe and inclusive school environment.” Building those positive relationships with staff, students, and families is something she strives to do every day. When Renee is not working, you can find her at the pool in the summer reading a good book and trying to find the next vacation spot with a beach.
