Technology
Colonial students in PK through grade 11 will keep their District issued devices through the summer.

Meal Service
Nutrition Services will continue the summer feeding program throughout the summer, distribution days and times may vary.

High School Sports Physicals
A schedule and plan for Sports Physicals at the William Penn Wellness Center is being worked on.  This opportunity would be for incoming William Penn freshman and upperclassmen.

Tyler’s Camp

Tyler’s Camp for Summer 2020, July 6 through August 6.

The SummerCollab will be offering FREE virtual programming in lieu of their traditional, in-person. Here’s what you can expect:

  • All activities will be delivered virtually via Zoom and Schoology.  Access to technology that supports those applications is required for participation.
  • Campers will be part of a cohort of up to 15 with a counselor mentor.
  • Each group will receive daily instruction in literacy and social emotional learning (SEL).
  • There will also be enrichment activities offered that campers can choose to participate in.
  • Camp will operate four days a week, Monday through Thursday.
  • First session will be at 10:00 am.
  • Sessions will last no more than 45 minutes.

Other Summer Programs

ESY/12-Month Programs
This summer Extended School Year (ESY) and 12-Month will be held remotely.  ESY will consist of daily live instruction and independent practice.  The 12-month program participants will be part of a daily morning meeting and a reading/math lesson.  The lessons for both programs will be based around IEP goals.  In addition, related service providers will be reaching out to those students who have it in their IEP.

William Penn Summer Camps
All District sponsored fee-based summer camps at William Penn have been canceled. Families who have already signed up will receive a refund in the coming weeks.

William Penn New Castle County Summer Youth Program
Colonial School District Administration is currently working with the New Castle County Summer Youth Office to provide summer work opportunities for students in select Programs of Study. Details will be shared through the Program of Study Staff,  once those plans are finalized.

William Penn Summer Weights and Conditioning
The William Penn Athletic Department is excited to offer a virtual Summer Weights and Conditioning Program. The Athletic Department will share details regarding the schedule and workout expectations before June 12th.
