Mrs. Motley’s Materials Science class learned about thermoplastics, Thermoset plastics and how they cause environmental problems for our environment . Students traveled to local Battery Park and cleaned up marine debris off the beach, calculated trash by type and quantity found on the beach, tested water for pollution, and used a Sein net to catch aquatic organisms! People from the community thanked Gunning Bedford for cleaning up the trash off the beach! One of the weird items found in the water was a Porta-potty door!
