Good evening GB Family,

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, GB Health Teacher Kim Ferraro. Kim passed away peacefully at home this morning following an extended illness with cancer.

Kim was not only a remarkable educator but also a compassionate mentor and a source of unwavering support. Her passion for teaching and commitment to her students’ growth went beyond the classroom, fostering a love of learning and encouraging each of us to reach our full potential.

We will remember Kim for her kindness, patience, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and the many ways she made a difference in our lives. Her legacy will continue through the lessons she taught and the lives she touched.

Although school will be closed through the Thanksgiving break, we encourage you to speak with your child.  If you would like suggestions and guidance on how to have this conversation, please see this link: https://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/blog/talking-to-teens-about-death-a-short-guide-for-parents-and-teachers/

We will have additional counseling support available when students return to school on Monday.

Please keep the family and our school community in your thoughts and prayers.
