School Counselor Mission Statement

ALL students will become productive members of society by modeling the knowledge and skills developed during their middle school years to achieve personal, academic, and career success in high school and beyond.

School Counselor Vision Statement
McCullough Middle School Counseling Department will provide access and opportunity to ALL students through individual, group, and classroom counseling. Best practices are delivered within a safe and nurturing environment that is aligned with ASCA national standards. The Counseling Program will include personal/social needs, career awareness/readiness, bully prevention, conflict resolution, and middle/high school transition. The goal is to minimize barriers for ALL students so they can achieve success in school and be prepared to lead successful lives.

Role of a Middle School Counselor
Support and assist all students with academic, emotional or social development. School Counselors help students process their problems, create goals and steps of action to make decisions about your future

Types of Services and Support 

Guidance Curriculum
student needs assessment (Minute Meetings), transition to high school, career inventory, college and career exploration, and Lunch Groups

Responsive Services
 mediate conflicts, daily check ins, risk assessments, and community referrals

Individual and Group Planning
one on one counseling and group counseling
