Nutrition education

At Colonial Schools, we know that good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!  The Child Nutrition Program of the Colonial School District is committed to providing well-balanced meals that contribute to the health and well-being of our students. The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of a Registered Dietitian, Food and nutrition professionals who are dedicated to students’ health, well-being and their ability to learn.  Breakfast and lunch are available in all schools. All foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students. The USDA-United States Department of Agriculture- has developed New Meal Patterns for School Nutrition Departments, see the USDA Meal pattern here.
