The 2024 Open Enrollment period is May 1 – 17, 2024.

(Plan Year July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025)
Unless you experience a qualifying event, Open Enrollment is your only chance to enroll, cancel coverage, or change plans for yourself, an eligible spouse, or dependent children.

Participation is mandatory.  Also note, participation in Open Enrollment does not constitute a contract for the upcoming year.

July 1, 2024 Rates

Please review the Benefits Changes Quick Reference Chart for all changes including:

  • Changes in Co-Pays
  • Elimination of some visit maximums.
  • Increase in Health FSA contributions.
  • Coverage for Cooling Caps, Mastectomy Bra, Wig/Hair pieces when medically necessary
  • Elimination of COVID-19 enhancement

  • Full-Time Employees (contracted to work 30 hours or more during a week) includes custodians, secretaries, specialists, teachers, paraprofessionals, nutrition workers & transportation
  • Administrators
  • Part-time employees are not afforded state share; thus, benefits cost range from $1,049.58 to $3,108.44 monthly.  Part-time employees who need monthly rates should contact the Benefits Coordinator.  Any employee unsure of their workgroup should also email the Benefits Coordinator, Deldra.Gregory-Colvin@colonial.k12.de.us.

 

FSA

The dollar limit for salary reductions for contributions to the Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) will increase to $3,200 (currently $3,050). The Dependent Care FSA limit will remain at $5,000. The employee minimum for the health care and dependent care FSA plan year elections for Fiscal Year 2025 will decrease to $50 (currently $125). *In 2023, the IRS allowed the state to make a one-time contribution to FSA participants of $125 to help reduce the balance in the FSA fund. This will not be available in 2024.
