Paraeducator Permit Renewal
The Title I Paraeducator Permit, Instructional Paraeducator Permit, and Service Paraeducator Permit are all valid for five years.
Paraeducators must complete 15 clock hours of approved professional development taken during this five-year term.
All Paraeducators must submit their renewal Para Permit clock hours directly to Human Resources for verification at least 45 days before the Para Permit expires even if the professional development activities are through PDMS.

Here are the steps:
- Log into your Data Service Center (DSC) account to obtain a copy of your Professional Development clock hours transcript
- Login into your DEEDS 3.0 account and select the “What Can I do Today” link
- Select the “View My Credentials” link
- Select the “Clock Hours (K-12)” link
- Select “Add Clock Hours” and input 15 clock hours based on what’s on your DSC Professional Development clock hours transcript. NOTE: The 15 clock hours you enter in DEEDS 3.0 must match 15 clock hours that are listed on your DSC Professional Development clock hours transcript.
- Send your DSC Professional Development clock hours transcript to Human Resources to verify and finalize
- Once Human Resources verifies and finalizes your clock hours, the educator must log back into DEEDS 3.0 and select the link for “What Can I Do Today” then select the “Renew My License/Permit.” DEEDS will guide the educator through the criminal conviction disclosure process.
- At the end of the month that the Paraeducator Permit expires, DEEDS will automatically issue an email with the new Paraeducator Permit attached.
