Professional Development
Colonial provides a wide array of professional development opportunities. It’s our priority that we align with our teachers need to provide a successful and rigorous learning environment for our students.
Individual Coaching & Mentoring
Our instructional coaches and mentors meet our teachers where they’re at. This means that teachers receive the individual support and encouragement they need to grow in their practice.
The Colonial Educator Institute
The Institute is a program specifically for teachers in their third and fourth years in the classroom. It serves as a pathway for mentoring, for educators looking to grow, and impact student outcomes.
Supporting Teacher Effectiveness Project (STEP)
STEP is an organic, teacher-led PLC model that empowers teachers to identify, study, and make change together. Working together on cross-district teams, teachers become researches and change agents.
For 2021-22, we honor Teacher Rob Poore as Colonial’s District Teacher of the Year.
