Dear Willam Penn Parent(s), Guardian(s), and Student(s),
On June 26th, I sustained a broken foot and will be undergoing surgery on August 13th to repair my 5th metatarsal. This unexpected event means I will be on medical leave for a few weeks. While I will certainly miss our students and the William Penn community during this time, I want to assure you that our school is well-prepared to continue progressing towards a great start to the 2024-2025 school year. I am pleased to announce that while I am on medical leave, Mr. Damon Saunders, Deputy Principal of N3, will step in as our Interim Principal. Mr. Saunders brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to our school community, and I am confident he will provide excellent leadership and support. While Mr. Saunders serves as Interim Principal, Ms. Alexis Vanover, Assistant Principal, will help support students and staff at N3. Mr. Corey Butterfield, Student Advisor, will support students and staff assigned to the W1 staff center. Ms. Vanover and Mr. Butterfield are well-prepared for their temporary roles and I
am confident in their leadership and ability to embrace this transition.
The start of the school year is always an exciting and sometimes challenging time, filled with new beginnings and opportunities. However, I have full confidence in our leadership team’s ability to maintain the high standards of education and support that our students and families expect from us. I am confident that WE will have a wonderful start to the school year.
I am looking forward to a swift recovery and am eager to rejoin you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued involvement and support for William Penn High School.

Here’s to a fantastic start to the school year!
Warmest regards,

Lisa Brewington, Principal
