William Penn Athletic Complex - coming Fall 2027
Details about the new state-of-the-art multisport stadium and athletic complex at William Penn
- 8-lane track for our runners, dedicated areas for shot put and discus, a versatile turf field ready for all seasons, and lights for evening events.
- State-of-the-art field house featuring modern bathrooms, a fully equipped weight room, convenient concessions, and a dedicated pressbox.
- 2 additional multi-use full turf fields with seating.
- Dedicated turf fields for both baseball and softball.
- One-of-a-kind Tennis/Pickleball stadium with five tennis courts and seven pickleball courts.
- Outdoor classroom space, designed by WPHS students for the entire district to utilise.
- A grass practice field and a dedicated storage facility for all our ground equipment.
- New bathrooms and concessions throughout the complex.
Important additional updates
- This will be a fully stand-alone complex, meaning no need to enter the main school building, enhancing flow and accessibility for all events.
- Safety and security are paramount. The entire property will be fenced, and a cutting-edge weapons-detection system will be used at key entry points for peace of mind.
- Significantly increased parking, which will be resurfaced, repaired, and restriped.
- Improved ADA entry to William Penn High School.
- An additional second entrance and exit to Frenchtown Road, which will greatly relieve congestion on Basin Road.
