Social Emotional Wellness and Response” is a research-based introduction to the most common mental health issues that students present with in school.  The presentation also introduces the recently-identified concept of “Adverse Childhood Experiences” (ACES) and carefully explains how these experiences can influence a student’s behavior.  The presentation also provides practical suggestions for school staff on how to compassionately and meaningfully engage students who experience issues with mental health.  This material is designed to be useful for teachers, paraprofessionals and building administrators PK-12.  Parents and guardians may also find this information helpful if they have a child who presents with mental health needs at school.
