Details: For the last five years employees at Richards, Layton & Finger have helped stock the food pantry at Eisenberg which is open to all families with children in the Colonial School District. Last year, the firm donated 1,500 pounds of food and 300 pounds of non- food items like crock pots and can openers. Family Crisis Therapist Molly Perdue says each year students help the law firm employees unload their vehicles filled with the donations which gives them an opportunity to participate in the community service project.
“The donations from Richards, Layton and Finger go so far. They provide items that the Food Bank of Delaware is not able to provide. The donations sustain the pantry for many, many months. The impact it has on our families is immeasurable. Our families are able to choose things they need and can use, not items in a donation box that they don’t like or can’t use. The donations of the crockpots and can openers help our homeless families who are residing in motels. It gives them the opportunity to cook when they do not have the appliances in the room to do that, and that means a lot to them!” Perdue said.
