After months of planning, George Read Middle School community members, teachers and families worked together to transform a traditional school courtyard into a dynamic outdoor agricultural classroom. Pop-up Greenhouses, three 25 feet long raised flower beds and mulch were setup to give George Read students the opportunity to take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it to real agriculture. This is one of the steps in the George Read redesign plan to fully implement agriculture into our school and increase relevant learning for our students. We look forward to seeing our students in action and getting their hands dirty raising plants very soon.
