Reminders from the Health and Wellness Division
We want to recognize that that incident that occurred at William Penn may have had an impact on anyone connected to Colonial Nation.  Please take a moment to reflect on your feelings and reach out to support if you need it.  Everyone nationwide has access to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline.  This can be accessed by calling or texting 988.  You can also get support through a chat through this link.

Additionally, staff have access to ComPsych for additional mental health support.  More information regarding ComPsych can be found here.
Finally, we want to continue to remind everyone in Colonial Nation about the importance of “saying something” when you “see or hear something.”  Staff, students, and families have the opportunity to anonymously report concerns through the StopIT application.  Information on StopIT can be found on the Colonial School District Website.  This tool can be accessed through a mobile app as well as by visiting the link on your school’s website.  The access code you will need to enter is Colonialreporting.

From the PLC workgroup (teachers)

Q: PLC… verb? noun?
A: It’s the people

PLC = Professional Learning Communities
It’s the people… not the process.

The last few months, the PLC workgroup has worked to gain some common language.
WE Lead with a commitment to Continuous Improvement within Colonial systems.
We believe collaboration is essential for problem solving.

Challenge yourself to consider the verbiage – language matters.
In Colonial, we are a PART of a PLC.  The group that problem solves together.

Equity ERA: Engage-Reflect-Act

  • Reflect: How do you respond when you hear something racist? What do you wish you would do (or had done) something differently?
  • Act: Check out Elena’s guide for What To Say  When You Hear  Something Racist and try a strategy.

Congratulations to Our Equity Practitioner Program (EPP) Cohort 6 on their “Graduation”!
