Parents and Guardians, the following is an update to the initial message posted earlier today via social media:
Delaware State Police (DSP) are actively investigating threats made to multiple schools state-wide. State and local Police found no credible threat. DSP is actively working with the schools as they initiate protocols to ensure the safety of all students and staff. New Castle Elementary School was among the schools targeted. Authorities responded to the school. The students were placed in a Soft Hold – classes resumed as normal but the children were kept inside. Carrie Downie was also on a Soft-Hold for a brief period of time due to proximity to New Castle. Families from New Castle Elementary and Carrie Downie Schools were contacted via email, phone call, text and social media.
