Please be advised that Delaware State Police responded to Gunning Bedford Middle School this morning after receiving a false report sent to them in the form of a text message regarding a shooting at the school. Everyone is safe. The false report is being investigated by police and school administrators. While police were on campus, the school went into a “soft lockdown” where students remained in their classrooms. The Colonial School District takes these matters very seriously, and if a student(s) is found to be responsible, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
