Colonial School District Families,

Today we learned that multiple individuals across several buildings associated with the Colonial School District tested positive for COVID-19. These are in addition to the cases that were already announced on Friday.  We are working hard to collaborate with the Division of Public Health (DPH) to identify and contact anyone who may have had close contact with these individuals.

To help mitigate community spread of COVID-19 and keep all members of our community safe, ALL COLONIAL SCHOOLS will move to virtual learning starting, November 16, 2020.  There will be no in-person instruction in any Colonial School District school buildings.  This decision was not made lightly and we understand that this may cause disruption and frustration.  We will continue to keep the safety and well-being of our students and staff at the forefront of all of our decisions at all times.

As a reminder, asynchronous learning (self-paced online learning days for students – no teacher Zooms) was already scheduled for the week of November 23, 2020.

We expect to reopen the school buildings on 11/30/2020.  If your student(s) tests positive for COVID-19 at any point during this virtual period, please contact your school principal with this information. The school nurse will follow up with you.

Families will receive an email from the classroom teacher with the Zoom session. The sessions will also be posted in Schoology and SeeSaw for student access. If, for any reason, you do not receive a link, the parent or guardian should contact your child’s teacher.

As a reminder, our nutrition services department and our transportation department will be delivering food this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Check here for drop off locations and times (http://www.colonialschooldistrict.org/community/remote-food-program/) .  You can also pick up meals at William Penn High School, Wilbur Elementary School, and McCullough Middle School from 11:00 am- 12:30 pm

Continue to monitor our website at www.colonialschooldistrict.org and social media for the latest updates as we strive to keep families fully informed.
